I finally feel like I am Building at the moment. I have been drilling the holes for the post to be chem. anchored to the slab and now have the wooden beams around the outside as well as the floor joists done. I now need to get the 7m long roof beam put in place. That will take a bit of help!

Last month we ground the slab back to expose the rock that we put in to the floor.

I still need to grind the slab a little further but it seem to have worked quite well

I purchased some red crushed rock and made some stencils, in which I put the rocks into the wet concrete. We made a picture of a sun and a moon with several stars placed around the edge of the room. When the concrete fully cures we will grind the top off and we hope that our patterns will show through clearly.

Things really got moving on the July the 21st. I employed a concreter and a pump to do all the hard work, plus with the help of my father and a good friend we got the pour done. We used approx 9 cubic metres of concrete. The pour started at 10:00 and we were pushing it to finish by 5:00 in the afternoon as it was cool weather and the concrete was slow to go off.

I have now finished the metal work which was done over a week. I had some help from my Dad to begin with, but the rest was done by myself. It was quite straight forward. It was nice doing somthing that was building rather than digging. I have now also finished the boarding up of the job and am pouring the concrete this Saturday. I have orders 8 cubic metres of concrete, a concrete pump and I will have the help of a local bloke around the corner who is a professoinal concreter. We have also got some red stones to put in to the top of the slab to make a little mosaic pattern.
